What is Stringtown?
Quite simply, Stringtown is a small group of six homes, mostly connected by adjoining back yards, located in the middle of Lindon, Utah. The families in the six homes are all connected through some family relation, mostly fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, in-laws and out-laws, cousins and more cousins. For the most part, the area we call Stringtown is encircled by a half mile of rails called the Stringtown Railroad.

What things are in Stringtown?
Most importantly, Stringtown is comprised of our families and the homes we live in. Besides that, there is also a one-eighth scale railroad, a swimming pool, outdoor soccer fields, indoor soccer fields, racquetball courts, sports courts, batting cages, golf putting greens, horseshoe pits, and more. For more information on any of these facilities, please click on them in the menu at the left.

Who can visit Stringtown?
Although the homes and all the facilities included here are privatly owned, all Stringtown facilities are available for use by our family and friends. Because of the large number of families and friends connected to our six families here, the Stringtown facilities are used quite extensively. As a result, we have adopted a simple system of making reservations in order to coordinate and organize all the families and groups that visit Stringtown. For more information on who can reserve and use the Stringtown facilities, please see the Reservations page.

Where did the name Stringtown come from?
"Stringtown" was the name used between 1850 and 1924 to describe the area now known as Lindon, Utah. During that time, the settlement of houses between Orem and Pleasant Grove was known as Stringtown because the houses were built along a single road, State Street. An old linden tree growing in the town inspired the current name, which was adopted on March 5, 1924 when the city was incorporated. Since Lindon City is not using the name Stringtown anymore, we decided to use it for our little town and our railroad. You can learn more about Lindon City and the historic name of Stringtown at the Lindon City Website at http://www.lindoncity.org/about.info.html.
